Jalandhar: After Aam Aadmi Party Punjab unit used imagery linked to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to target the seven Rajya Sabha members who switched over to BJP, MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney posted that his character was built on action, and it would always speak louder than cartoons or fake narratives. On his X handle, he also started posting against alleged illegal mining at different places in Punjab. On Thursday, Sahney called on Union home minister Amit Shah and posted about it on his X handle.AAP-Punjab on Saturday shared a poster titled ‘Punjab de gaddar’ (traitors of Punjab) on its Facebook page, showing the seven defectors in khaki shorts and performing what looks like the RSS salute. Such imagery appeared only on AAP’s Punjab handles as this was not shared on its social media accounts at the national level. It was apparently aimed at targeting these MPs only in the Punjabi-language social media handles, leveraging deep-seated regional apprehensions regarding Hindutva politics to discredit the MPs. On Tuesday, Sahney shared a video, which showed this poster and flayed AAP for posting such imagery, while recalling Sahney’s work for Punjab on different issues. “Standing firm in service, not shaken by noise … My character is built on action, and that will always speak louder than cartoons or fake narratives,” he said. While sharing a Punjabi journalist’s video report on Wednesday, he posted, “It’s shameful & disgusting to painfully see illegal mining continues near Sarasali Dhussi Bandh which breached last year. It must be stopped immediately.” He reposted other stuff against the alleged illegal mining in the state. MSID:: 130637202 413 |
