Margao: AAP Goa on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls that has left scores of genuine voters off the list.AAP Goa president Valmiki Naik said the 97 Goan voters are yet to be restored to the rolls despite officials under Goa chief electoral officer having cleared their re-addition and alleged that centralising the process in Delhi had undermined the authority of electoral registration officers (EROs) to act on such cases.Calling it “the tip of the iceberg,” Naik alleged that voters who did not support BJP were being systematically deleted, and repeated AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s demand that Kumar be arrested and prosecuted for treason.Naik said EC’s decentralised structure was meant to prevent manipulation, and questioned why EROs now had to depend on an unresponsive central IT wing to re-add voters.
