CHENNAI: More than three weeks after granite baron R Veeramani was arrested in connection with a child rape case, city police searched his residential and office premises. Police said they have issued a look out circular (LOC) against a person called Prakash.The LOC was issued to airports across India after a police team that went to Prakash’s residence to serve him a summons was informed that he had gone abroad. Police were examining his role in the suspicious financial transactions connected with the case.On Wednesday, Central Crime Branch conducted searches at five premises linked to Veeramani, including his office on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai and a guest house in Teynampet. A team of about 30 personnel conducted the searches.Veeramani was arrested on Aug 29 along with his associates Shanthi and Mahendra Simhan. Officials say they have since received nine similar complaints, and there were attempts to close the case too.On Tuesday, police arrested Ganesan, a former employee of Gem Granites who had worked there for 23 years, after finding a video linked to the case on his mobile phone.
