Agartala: Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has withheld the salaries of all Group A and Group B officers affiliated with the council until further notice, following directions from Tripura High Court.The court’s intervention followed petitions alleging that sanctioned retirement benefits had not been paid to former TTAADC employees. The petitioners said their retirement benefits had been approved and the necessary memoranda issued during 2025-26, but the payments had not been processed.According to court records, retirement benefits amounting to Rs 16,33,750 had been approved for one petitioner on July 15, 2025, but the amount had not been disbursed. The other petitions reportedly involved approved amounts ranging from around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 31.68 lakh.The advocate general, after receiving instructions, informed HC that TTAADC had its own funds and that the state finance secretary’s consent was not required to release amounts that had already been approved.
