Panaji: More than 3,878 volunteers participated in the Indian Coast Guard’s (ICG) coastal clean-up drive, clearing about 2,760kg of plastic and marine litter from 25 beaches in the state.ICG conducted the drive in association with the ministry of earth sciences (MoES) and other stakeholders to mark International Coastal Clean-up Day (ICC).Goa governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju joined the cleanup drive at Miramar beach. Meanwhile, other ministers and dignitaries joined the campaign at beaches in their respective constituencies, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility to protect the marine environment.
