Thane: A 24-year-old woman was injured after a tree fell on her house along with three other neighbouring tenements near Balkum crematorium on Friday evening.The Thane fire brigade received information about the incident at around 6:30 pm. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot with one fire vehicle, while the disaster management cell deployed a utility vehicle and the tree authority department also sent personnel to the site.Sarita Prajapati, a resident of Room No. 1 at Kotkar House Chawl, sustained injuries to her leg and shoulder in the incident. She was taken to a local clinic for treatment and was reported to be stable.The fallen tree damaged the roof of neighbouring chawl rooms, which have to be temporarily evacuated.“The fallen tree was cut and cleared as much as possible. However, due to darkness and inaccessibility, the remaining portion of the tree would be cleared Saturday morning,” officials said.
