Ambala: Haryana energy, transport and labour minister Anil Vij ordered suspension of two police post in-charges on Thursday for allegedly delaying FIRs and action on theft complaints during a public hearing at the PWD Rest House in Ambala Cantonment.Vij ordered suspension of the Topkhana police post in-charge after a Staff Road woman alleged that thieves entered her house on Sept 9, rendered her father unconscious with a narcotic substance and stole 20 tolas (200 grams) of gold and cash. She said an FIR was registered only after she threatened to approach Vij, despite CCTV footage.In another case, a priest from Kacha Bazaar said his temple room was burgled and his Sept 5 complaint to the Housing Board police post had not led to an FIR. Vij ordered the post in-charge’s suspension after seeking an explanation from police officials.Vij also ordered the Ambala senior engineer to probe the Chourmastpur SDO after a Nadyali village farmer complained that his tubewell connection, disconnected in 2025, had not been restored despite there being no outstanding dues. He ordered another inquiry into the delay in removing an unused transformer at Rampur Sarsheri.He pulled up Mahesh Nagar SHO over theft complaints from Ganesh Vihar and adjoining colonies along Tangri Bund area, directing increased patrolling and security. He also ordered streetlights to be installed along Tangri Bund Road.Other complaints involved drainage, garbage dumping, blocked access due to a neighbour’s wall, shifting of electricity poles and high-tension wires, a cyber-fraud recovery case, a closed dispensary and termination of an employee after 28 years. Vij directed the concerned departments to take action.
