Pune: A 65-year-old scooter rider died after a four-wheeler hit his vehicle at Shelarwadi Phata on the Pune-Mumbai highway near Dehu Road around 3pm on Monday.The accident occurred when the victim, Namdev Bodke of Gahunje, had slowed down near a median opening at Shelarwadi Phata. The Dehu Road police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against the car driver, a resident of Wadgaon Maval.An officer from the Dehu Road police said the car hit another two-wheeler after knocking down Bodke. The other two-wheeler rider suffered injuries in the accident.“The car hit Bodke’s scooter and then another two-wheeler. Bodke and the other two-wheeler rider suffered injuries in the accident. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Bodke succumbed to injuries during treatment,” the officer said.
