Varanasi: Noted author, poet and professor of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at BHU, Dr Rajeev Kumar Dubey, was conferred the prestigious Bharat Vibhushan Samman during a ceremony held in Chandigarh on Tuesday.The award was given by Punjab Legislative Assembly speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. The programme was organised by the Institute of Social Reforms and Higher Education Charitable Trust, New Delhi.Dubey received the award in recognition of his remarkable contributions to literature, spiritual philosophy, and the dissemination of the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita through his literary works and public discourse. Dr Dubey has authored several acclaimed books, including ‘Geeta Sugeeta Kartavya’ and ‘Gita: Verses of Eternity’, both of which seek to present the eternal philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita in a contemporary, poetic, and accessible manner for modern readers. His literary works bridge spirituality with practical life, encouraging readers toward inner transformation, discipline, and purposeful living.
