Three teens die as bike rams truck on Delhi-Jaipur highway

Gurgaon: Three teenagers died after their motorcycle rammed into a truck on Delhi-Jaipur Highway on Monday morning.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Arman (14), Prince Kumar (14) and Navneet Kumar (19), all residents of Anjana Colony in Sector 37.The impact threw all three onto the road, leaving them critically injured. Passersby rushed the trio to Civil Hospital in Sector 10. Doctors declared Arman dead. Prince and Navneet succumbed to their injuries later.Navneet, who was riding the bike, did not have a driving licence and none of the three friends were wearing a helmet.According to police, the truck was taking a U-turn near Kherki Daula toll plaza when the motorcycle, coming from behind at high speed, crashed into it. The traffic movement at the spot remains heavy, police said. The three had gone towards Kherki Daula on Sunday night and were returning home.A police officer said, “The fact that two of those travelling on the motorcycle were minors is also part of the police inquiry.”A case was registered against the truck driver at Kherki Daula police station. “The bodies have been sent for autopsies. We are examining CCTV footage from the toll plaza and nearby stretches to establish the sequence of events and ascertain the speed and movement of both vehicles before the collision,” the officer added.
