Lucknow: A high-level delegation from the United States paid a courtesy visit to Dinesh Pratap Singh, minister of state (independent charge) for horticulture, agricultural marketing, agricultural foreign trade, and agricultural export, at his residence, on Monday.The delegation included key representatives from the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), the US Commercial Service and the US-India Business Council (USIBC).The minister informed the delegation that UP currently ranks first in the country in the field of horticultural production. He highlighted the immense potential for the production and processing of horticultural crops within the state, as well as for horticultural exports at the international level.The minister placed special emphasis on the need to share advanced technical knowledge regarding the availability of high-quality seeds, modern horticultural practices and export promotion strategies; such measures aim to boost the income of the state’s farmers and elevate horticultural exports to new heights.BL Meena, additional chief secretary, horticulture and food processing, UP, outlined the department’s current schemes, policies and activities through a detailed presentation. The delegation expressed a positive interest in advancing technical cooperation and business partnerships.
