Lucknow: A professor from Uttar Pradesh has been selected for the prestigious Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Programme, where he will teach American Gen Z students subjects ranging from mathematics and data analytics to artificial intelligence and cyber security.Kamlesh Kumar Dubey, associate professor at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), has been invited to join Livingstone College, Salisbury, North Carolina, for the 2026-27 academic year. He will spend two semesters in the US until May 2027, teaching and participating in academic collaborations.UPSIFS founding director G K Goswami said the selection is a significant international recognition for Uttar Pradesh’s growing expertise in forensic science, cyber security and emerging technologies. He added that it would strengthen academic and research ties between India and the US in areas such as mathematics, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cryptography and cyber security.At Livingstone College, Dubey will teach mathematics along with modern subjects including predictive analytics, business analytics, descriptive analytics and data mining. His academic work also spans futuristic domains such as AI, blockchain, cyber security, cryptography and quantum cryptography.Officials said the appointment reflects the increasing focus on integrating forensic science with advanced technologies to tackle evolving challenges such as cybercrime, digital fraud and technology-enabled offences.Goswami, a former Fulbright Flex Award Fellow, said Dubey’s expertise in linking mathematics with AI and data science could encourage deeper collaboration among researchers, educators and students in both countries.Dubey brings more than 19 years of academic experience to the programme. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University and has published over 40 research papers, secured 10 patents, authored four books, and guided six doctoral scholars.
