NUH: Nuh district’s first state-of-the-art Animal Operation Theatre was inaugurated at the SPCA Infirmary in Shri Chetan Das Gau Samvardhan Sansthan in Sangail on Thursday.The facility was inaugurated by Nuh Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani, who is also the chairman of the district SPCA.The operation theatre has been set up to provide immediate surgical treatment to livestock in cases involving traumatic injuries, complicated deliveries and other critical conditions. Officials said the facility would help reduce animal mortality and protect the livelihoods of small and marginal dairy farmers in the district.Nuh has a livestock population of around 3.11 lakh, comprising mainly bovines and small ruminants. Animal husbandry is a major subsidiary occupation in the district, with livestock serving as an important source of income for rural households.Speaking at the inauguration, Pilani said several projects aimed at improving livestock infrastructure and increasing farmers’ incomes were underway in the district. These include a Livestock Farmers Training Centre in Ferozepur Jhirka, another Animal Operation Theatre in Taoru and other projects approved under the Mewat Development Agency.Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (Nuh) Dr Virender Sehrawat, district SPCA president Dinesh Nagpal, SDO Nuh and veterinary surgeons, including Dr Manish Hooda, Dr Satish, Dr Ajay, Dr Harender Singh, Dr Rambir and Dr Tripurari Dubey, were among those present at the inauguration.Members of the SPCA committee and other officials and local representatives also attended the event.
