Lucknow: A delegation of journalists from Keralam on Friday explored Uttar Pradesh’s governance, development and law-and-order model, with particular focus on measures adopted by the state to strengthen policing and public engagement.The interaction was held during a ‘Media Samvaad’ programme jointly organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB), Lucknow, and Uttar Pradesh Information and Public Relations Department under Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat initiative.The delegation, comprising representatives of leading print and electronic media organisations from Keralam, visited Lucknow to exchange experiences with their Uttar Pradesh counterparts and gain insights into the state’s culture, governance, development journey and media practices.During the interaction, the Keralam journalists showed particular interest in Uttar Pradesh’s law-and-order framework, including measures taken to strengthen policing, improve public interaction and establish mechanisms for receiving feedback from citizens.The delegation was briefed on efforts aimed at improving law-and-order management and making governance more responsive to public concerns.Journalists from Uttar Pradesh, meanwhile, expressed interest in Keralam’s education system and discussed factors contributing to its performance. Media representatives from both states also exchanged experiences on news coverage, particularly reporting on local issues and matters of public interest.The interaction also touched upon the relationship between Bollywood and the South Indian film industry, with participants discussing the role of cinema in promoting cultural exchange and strengthening understanding among people from different regions.Officials said the programme was aimed at facilitating dialogue, knowledge-sharing and mutual understanding between media professionals from the two states while strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat.
