Pune: A 20-year-old law student was electrocuted while decorating a Ganesh pandal in Wadgaon Maval on Tuesday evening. The Pune Rural police identified the deceased as Shivraj Kadu, a resident of Wadgaon Maval. Kadu was a second-year student at a city-based law college.An officer from the Wadgaon Maval police said Kadu was an active member of a Ganesh mandal in his area. He was decorating the pandal for the Ganesh festival around 4.45pm on Tuesday. “While switching on a button, he came into contact with a live electricity supply and was electrocuted. He was immediately taken to a private hospital at Somatane Phata, where doctors pronounced him dead,” the officer said.
