Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) on Tuesday launched the Innovation Hub UP portal to bring incubation centres of its affiliated institutions onto a common platform.The university also inaugurated the Kalam Patent Centre to provide free patent support to students, faculty members and startups.The Innovation Hub UP portal will provide information on startups supported by different incubation centres, programmes being organised for startups and other related activities.AKTU vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey said the university was taking several steps to give a strong push to innovation and entrepreneurship.He said the Innovation Hub UP portal would help connect incubation centres through a common platform, while initiatives such as the Kalam Patent Centre would provide innovators with institutional support to protect and develop their ideas.On the occasion, the university also released its Student, Faculty, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Policy 2026-31, which earmarks Rs 15 crore to support innovation.
