Chandigarh: Two youths died in separate suspected drug overdose cases in the city over the past 24 hours.The deceased were identified as Ritik Sharma, 23, from Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, and Iqbal, 21, of Manimajra, Chandigarh.Ritik, who worked as a cook, had come to the city in search of a job. Police said he stayed at a hotel in Kajheri with a friend on Sunday night. The two allegedly consumed alcohol before going to sleep. Ritik was found dead in the room on Monday morning. A syringe was also reportedly recovered near the spot. Police suspect a drug overdose, which will be confirmed after a medical examination.In the second case, Iqbal, who worked as a driver in Panchkula, was found unconscious inside a car in Manimajra on Monday afternoon.Police said a motor market shopkeeper, Naresh Bhatia, had seen him in an apparently intoxicated condition on Sunday. Police took Iqbal to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
