New Delhi: Two men were killed in separate violent incidents in the capital, with police probing murder in outer Delhi and an assault-related death in south Delhi. In the first case, a 19-year-old man, Mayank, was allegedly stabbed to death in outer Delhi’s Narela Industrial Area on Monday evening. His father works as a pump operator with the Delhi Jal Board.Police said they received a call around 7 pm about an injured youth in the F Block area of Bhorgarh Phase II. A team found Mayank lying unconscious with stab wounds at the spot. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Preliminary inquiries revealed that Mayank usually went out alone for an evening walk. On Monday, he left home as usual but did not return, prompting concern among family members, who were later informed by the police.A senior police officer said the family has not named any suspect so far. “We are probing all angles, including the possibility of an old personal enmity,” the officer said. The dispute reportedly involved Shatrughan and an associate, Rakesh. Although the quarrel was initially defused, Shatrughan was later assaulted on the neck with a wooden stick around 1 am. Rakesh fled the spot.Shatrughan was taken to AIIMS, where he was declared brought dead. Police said the accused, a scrap dealer, had allegedly consumed alcohol and used Shatrughan’s mobile phone, which triggered the altercation.
