Panaji: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has revised its fees to scrutinise projects. Proposals for beach weddings and events will now be charged Rs 1.10 lakh for scrutiny, as against Rs 1 lakh earlier.The GCZMA has also introduced fees and applications for bridges along the coastal belt. Govt departments will also be charged for proposals for dredging of rivers. For construction of roads too, the GCZMA will charge Rs 1 lakh as scrutiny fee for private projects and Rs 50,000 for govt projects.The amount charged to scrutinise proposals for beach weddings has gone up consistently. In 2024, the fee charged by GCZMA to process beach wedding applications was hiked to Rs 1 lakh for five days. In 2025, for the first time, GCZMA has proposed that applicants be able to seek a one-time permission for three years for a particular beach stretch by paying Rs 7 lakh to host weddings and other beach events. The holder of such a permission will be able to host up to 40 weddings on the stretch.It has now reverted back to charging per event.For a bridge project, the scrutiny fee will be between Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh, depending on the cost of the project with fee for those costing over Rs 50 crore being Rs 5 lakh.Govt departments will have to pay Rs 1.5 lakh for proposals for dredging of river or sea, as per the revised GCZMA price. Earlier, no scrutiny fee was charged for dredging work proposals.Beach beautification works and setting up of ramps taken up by Goa Tourism Development Corporation usually will now have a scrutiny fee of Rs 700 per sqm.The GCZMA will charge for projects for setting up watch towers or observatories in coastal stretch a scrutiny fee of up to Rs 50 lakh for a project costing Rs 50 crore and above, while projects of up to Rs 5 crore worth will attract scrutiny fee of Rs 35,000, and so on.There were no charges in force for these projects earlier.Internal modification proposed in hotels, restaurants, villas in coastal areas will also attract scrutiny fees of Rs 800 per sqm from now on, which was not charged earlier.Applications for construction of new sewage treatment plants will cost Rs 2 lakh in scrutiny fee for projects of over 10MLD capacity.
