Delhi Teen Dies in Ceiling Collapse, twin Brother Survives Police Recover Live Cartridges

New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy died after a portion of the ceiling collapsed on him while he was sleeping at his house in northeast Delhi’s Welcome area early Sunday morning. His twin brother, who was also sleeping in the room, sustained minor injuries in the incident.The information was received at Welcome police station around 7am after the boy was taken to Kailash Deepak Hospital in Anand Vihar by his family, police said. Doctors declared him brought dead. The incident, however, is believed to have occurred around 5am.The boy’s body was subsequently shifted to GTB Hospital for postmortem examination. His twin brother was taken to a local nursing home, where he is undergoing treatment.During investigation, police also recovered five live .315-bore cartridges from the deceased’s possession. The circumstances under which the ammunition came to be in his possession are being examined.Police and forensic teams inspected the house and collected evidence. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.Cops are also examining the condition of the ceiling and the circumstances leading to the collapse.
