The party, which raised concerns over “attempts to influence judicial officers”, said that judicial officers have to be requisitioned now as the state administration became “politicised”.Hours after the Supreme Court order was out, Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya said, “Whether it takes 80 days or 180 days for the ECI, it has to ensure an error-free voter list. The special intensive revision was peaceful even in non-BJP states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Bengal is the only exception where problems were created to derail the SIR process,” Bhattacharya said.Demanding “No SIR, No Vote”, Bhattacharya said that the ECI will have to go through every objection filed by the booth-level agents to ensure that none of the political parties are aggrieved. “The ECI will have to ensure that people get to submit their Form 7 (form for inclusion of names) and each of them has to be considered,” Bhattacharya said.Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, who went to the ECI office on Tuesday, said that the supplementary list, ordered by the Supreme Court, can be finalised after the names appearing in the logical discrepancy cases are backed up by documents. “There was never a situation before where judicial officers and judges had to be requisitioned from other states to complete the electoral roll revision.”Bengal BJP minder Amit Malviya raised concerns over attempts to influence judicial officers. “This follows serious concerns that details of attempts to influence judicial officers entered the public domain,” he wrote on his X handle. Bhattacharya also pointed at efforts to influence judges in the district. “There are efforts to influence judges in the districts not to grant bail (to arrested BJP workers). The administration was already politicised and that cannot be trusted anymore,” he said.Union minister Sukanta Majumdar also questioned the “unauthorised presence of Manoj Pant” at a Supreme Court-mandated meeting on SIR and flagged efforts to influence the process. “The order clearly mentions who was authorised to attend the meeting to take forward the SIR process. Despite that, I received information that Manoj Pant was present. In what capacity did he attend? He is no longer the chief secretary,” Majumdar said.Bhattacharya said that the BJP was able to win in more than 11,000 seats in the 2023 panchayat poll despite large-scale violence by Trinamool. “Even if there is no central force or central agencies like ED or CBI, the BJP will win the election this time as people are going to vote to dislodge the govt,” he said. Bhattacharya said this earlier too as he tried to remove the sense of complacency among the party workers.Terming the 2026 assembly election as the last chance for the Santanis and tribals, Adhikari said, “This election is going to be the last one for the nationalist, sanatanis and tribal population in the state.
