Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao demanded CM Revanth Reddy’s resignation, alleging that the Congress govt has failed to implement its six guarantees and address the concerns of students and unemployed youth.Speaking at a protest by unemployed youth and students at Ambedkar Chowrastha in Siddipet, Harish Rao demanded the immediate release of pending fee reimbursement, stating that students, particularly from SC, ST and BC communities, are being forced to struggle to continue their education.He also demanded the immediate cancellation of GO 97, alleging that bringing Polytechnic education under the Skill University system would burden students and affect their future.Questioning the government’s employment promises, Harish Rao said the promised two lakh jobs have not been delivered and described the Job Calendar as `Jobless Calender’. He further alleged that several development and educational projects in Siddipet, including the Veterinary College, Shilparamam and Ranganaik Sagar tourism works, have been stalled or shifted.Visits electric sub-station:Harish Rao conducted a surprise inspection of the Gambhirpur electricity sub-station in Dubbak mandal on Saturday after farmers complained to MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Harish Rao that inadequate power supply was causing their paddy fields to dry up.After inspecting the sub-station logbook, Harish Rao criticised the Congress govt over the power cuts and accused CM Revanth Reddy of making empty claims about power supply.Speaking to the media, Harish Rao said the sub-station logbook itself exposed the Congress govt’s failure.“According to the logbook, on the 3rd, power was supplied from 8 AM and switched off at 6 PM. On the 4th, power came at 7:45 AM and was switched off at 6 PM. This means farmers are not even getting 10 hours of power. These are not my allegations this is what the sub-station’s own logbook records,” he said.Harish Rao said the state govt had failed to fulfil its election promise of providing 24-hour free electricity to farmers. “Revanth Reddy promised 24-hour free power before the elections. Today, his government is unable to provide even half of what KCR provided to farmers,” he said.He challenged Congress leaders who had earlier inspected sub-stations and questioned power supply during the BRS government to now explain the situation under their own govt.“Those who once went to sub-stations and demanded to see the logbooks should now visit the sub-stations and answer farmers. I am ready to meet them anywhere, including Nalgonda,” Harish Rao said. He also questioned CM Revanth Reddy’s claim that he works 18 hours a day.“If the CM is really working 18 hours a day, why are farmers getting electricity for barely 10 hours? He must answer the farmers of Telangana,” Harish Rao said.“With nearly 40 lakh agricultural connections in the state, the Revanth Reddy govt is betraying farmers across Telangana. The same CM who once said three hours of power was enough for farmers is now unable to provide even 10 hours,” he said.He said farmers in Machapur and Gundaram villages had already begun protests in front of electricity sub-stations and warned that the growing anger among farmers would eventually reach the CM.ends/
