Payouts ready for nearly 7k farmer families for airport land
Camps are being held at 14 Jewar villages

Noida: The Noida administration has processed compensation files for 6,720 farmer families since April 3 through special camps set up to speed up land acquisition payments for the expansion of Noida International Airport. Officials said compensation of nearly Rs 3,700 crore has been processed so far, while around 800 hectares have already been acquired. The drive is part of the administration’s effort to complete acquisition for phases 3 and 4 of the airport project.“Out of the Rs 3,700 crore, around Rs 1,500 crore has already been deposited in the farmers’ accounts so far. A total of Rs 8,000 crore is to be disbursed for the acquisition of land for phases 3 and 4 of the Noida International Airport,” Jewar SDM Durgesh Singh told TOI.As per the rehabilitation plan, nearly 16,000 farmer families are expected to receive compensation under the ongoing acquisition process. The compensation is to be disbursed at Rs 4,300 per sqm. To accelerate payments and documentation, the district administration set up daily camps across 14 villages in Jewar. The camps began on April 3 and are aimed at resolving pending paperwork, verification issues and compensation disbursal in a time-bound manner. The villages covered under this exercise include Thora, Neemka Shahjahanpur, Khwajpur, Ramner, Kishorepur, Banwaribas, Parohi, Muqimpur Shivara, Jewar Bangar, Sabauta Mustafabad, Ahmedpur Chaurauli, Dayanatpur, Bankapur and Rohi.Camps will be held at designated locations, including primary schools, panchayat bhawans and community centres in these villages until all farmers are covered, officials said.At each camp, revenue teams are collecting required files from affected farmers, preparing compensation files and completing necessary formalities on the spot. A revenue inspector, lekhpal (village accountant) and amin (village surveyor) have been deployed in every village for this purpose.Officials said the camp-based model has significantly reduced delays in processing claims and has helped clear a large volume of pending cases within a short period. The last time such camps were held was during the first phase of acquisition.SDM Singh has been appointed nodal officer for the exercise and verifies and signs compensation files before forwarding them to the additional district magistrate (land acquisition) office for final processing. “The camps have helped streamline the process, which otherwise would have taken 5-7 days through the usual channel. Out of the total files to be processed for acquisition, 42% files have been processed till now,” he said.Officials said they expect the remaining compensation cases to be processed in phases over the coming weeks as acquisition work gathers pace for the next stages of airport development.According to officials, disbursal of compensation to farmers affected during Phase 2 of the airport expansion has already been completed. However, the compensation of farmers affected by land acquisition of 189 hectares acquired from seven villages for resettlement — Jewar Bangar, Sadullapur (Modelpur), Falaida Bangar, Karauli Bangar, Tirthali, Dhanpura, Mehandipur Bangar — is currently underway. The acquisition will affect 1,080 families, and they are being compensated at the rate of Rs 4,300 per sqm.“The compensation amount disbursal of the seven villages that will be acquired to set up the resettlement and rehabilitation colony is underway, and once it is complete, the land will be acquired and the YEIDA authority will start developing it,” DM Medha Roopam said.
