The underpass project that started in July 2024 with an 18-month deadline was delayed due to restrictions imposed under Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The pace of construction, officials said, remained slow as work has to be halted during peak traffic hours.The six-lane underpass runs alongside the 60-metre-wide road and is designed to provide a direct link between Greater Noida, Gaur City and Delhi-Meerut Expressway. It will allow vehicles to bypass Gaur Chowk, reducing the traffic load at the intersection. Of the total 700-metre length, 350 metres will be constructed on each side of the chowk. The project is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 92 crore.
