Noida: Greater Noida Authority has once again extended the deadline for allottees of residential plots to complete construction and obtain necessary certificates by two years. The revised deadline has now been set as June 30, 2028. The Authority has made it clear that allotments may be cancelled if construction is not completed by the deadline.CEO of Greater Noida Authority, Ravi Kumar NG, said the decision was aimed at providing relief to allottees whose plots remain undeveloped even two decades after allotment. “We have decided to give them a last chance. This applies to those whose plots do not yet have completed construction or for whom completion certificates have not been obtained. The extension has been approved subject to the delay charges currently applicable,” he said.The Authority had extended the deadline for allottees once earlier in 2024. They had been given time till June 30, 2026, to complete the construction and obtain the certificates.More than 5,000 allottees are expected to benefit from the extension. Under new residential plot schemes, allottees are generally required to complete construction and obtain the completion certificates within three years of execution of the lease deed. However, several allottees in Greater Noida have failed to complete construction within the stipulated period despite having their plots registered.The issue is particularly visible in some of Greater Noida’s oldest residential sectors, including Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta, where several plots have remained vacant and undeveloped for years.These undeveloped plots have also become a concern for the residents. With many vacant plots covered with overgrown bushes and accumulated garbage, residents have raised concerns about the possibility of reptiles and insects in the area.Officials said the latest extension would be treated as the final opportunity for such allottees. If construction is not completed and the required certificates are not obtained, the allotment will be liable to cancellation.
