Kolkata: Police on Wednesday busted a fake call centre in Kasba and arrested 40 people for defrauding people on the pretext of installing 5G mobile towers and also using reputable firms’ names to convince people to invest in fake insurance policies and taking personal loans. Among the arrested was Sandip Banerjee, the owner, who ran Robust Digital Solutions first from Patuli and later, from Rajdanga Main Road. Police seized 39 cellphones, nine charges, two ATM debit cards and cash worth Rs 16,000 among others.
