Lucknow: The investigation into the murder of property dealer Dhirendra Pratap Singh (40) in Sushant Golf City has uncovered a carefully planned conspiracy in which the accused allegedly transported his body nearly 22 km before dumping it in a canal in Dubagga’s Salempur Amethiya area, police said.Police have identified five persons in connection with the case so far. Among them is Onkar Sahu, who was arrested and sent to jail on Tuesday for allegedly helping in disposing of the body. During interrogation, Onkar told investigators that Dhirendra was abducted and later shot twice inside a car near the PGI area.According to police, Onkar and driver Ravi Tiwari then carried the body through Kisan Path to Dubagga, where it was thrown into a canal. The body was later recovered based on information provided by Ravi.Investigators believe the murder was planned nearly a month in advance. The accused allegedly selected the timing, route and disposal site beforehand and even devised strategies to mislead the investigation.The Sushant Golf City police have prepared a route map covering the 22-km stretch travelled by the accused and are analysing CCTV footage from cameras installed along the route. Surveillance teams are also examining call detail records (CDRs), which have revealed several leads and frequent communication among suspected conspirators.The probe has now expanded to Unnao, where STF and Lucknow Police teams are conducting raids and questioning multiple suspects. Police are examining whether influential individuals or others linked to a long-running property dispute played a role in planning or facilitating the murder.Investigators are also scrutinising complaints submitted by Dhirendra to the state govt and the chief minister in 2024 regarding alleged irregularities involving certain Bangarmau tehsil officials and individuals linked to land mafias.Police are preparing to seek custody of Ravi Tiwari to recover the weapon used in the murder and Dhirendra’s missing mobile phone. Officers also plan to reconstruct the sequence of events by taking him to locations linked to the crime.DCP South Mohammad Mustaq said the accused had been planning the crime for a considerable period. STF and police teams are continuing raids to arrest the remaining suspects and establish the full extent of the conspiracy.
