Dimapur: The Nagaland govt on Wednesday launched the Nagaland LabourChowk mobile application to modernise and streamline employment services for building and other construction workers (BOCW) in the state.Chief secretary Sentiyanger Imchen launched the app at the chief secretary’s conference hall in Kohima. The app was developed under the initiative of the labour department through the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.The application has been developed with the objective of providing a transparent, accessible and technology-driven platform connecting construction workers with employers, while facilitating access to employment opportunities and welfare services. It also seeks to transform the traditional labour chowk system into a more dignified and digitally enabled platform.Employers can use the platform to connect with registered workers, while workers can register, search for jobs and access labour-related services digitally. It will help workers access employment opportunities, welfare schemes and skill development services, while enabling employers to connect with registered workers.The platform also aims to strengthen transparency and improve service delivery within the BOCW ecosystem by facilitating worker registration, job search and labour engagement through digital means.For construction workers and stakeholders, the Nagaland Labour Chowk mobile application is available for download on the Google Play Store.Construction workers download the application from the Play Store, and register themselves to access employment opportunities and other services available through the platform. Workers and employers can also use the LabourChowk online portal, labourchowk.nagaland.gov.in, to register, log in and access the available services.The initiative is expected to benefit construction workers across Nagaland by improving access to employment opportunities, welfare benefits and other support services through a single digital platform.
