Lucknow: BJP MLA from the Shikarpur constituency in Bulandshahr, Anil Sharma, passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. He was 63 and had been undergoing treatment at a hospital for some time.CM Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over the demise of the senior BJP leader and former minister of state. Paying tribute through a post on social media platform X, chief minister described Sharma’s death as a significant loss.“The demise of Shri Anil Sharma, former Minister of State in the Govt of Uttar Pradesh and MLA from the Shikarpur Assembly constituency of Bulandshahr district, is deeply saddening. Humble tributes,” the CM wrote.Yogi also conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed leader’s soul. “I pray to Prabhu Shri Ram to grant a place at His holy feet to the departed noble soul and provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss. Om Shanti,” he said.Anil Sharma was regarded as an influential BJP leader in western Uttar Pradesh. His death prompted an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, party workers and supporters.Party leaders and workers remembered Sharma for his public service and contribution to the party and the region. His demise marks the end of a long political career that spanned legislative and ministerial responsibilities in Uttar Pradesh.
