Pune: A PMPML bus hit a bicycle and ran over its pillion at University Chowk on Ganeshkhind Road around 9.50am on Saturday.The deceased Sohail Noor Ansari (21), was a casual worker residing in Janwadi and hailed from Bihar. The bicycle rider, Rehan Ansari (19), suffered minor injuries. He lodged a complaint against the PMPML bus driver for rash and negligent driving.Senior inspector Uttam Bhajnawale of Chatushrungi police said, “The CCTV footage showed a vehicle parked on the left side of the road. The bicycle riders suddenly changed the direction while passing the stationary vehicle and moved towards the middle of the road. The PMPML bus, trailing the bicycle, hit it from behind.”He added, “Sohail fell from the bicycle and was found beneath the rear wheel of the bus. The bus driver stopped the vehicle at the spot, following which he was taken to the police station for further action. We have served him a notice, asking him to cooperate with the investigation.”
