Chandigarh: Haryana purchased electricity worth Rs 40,918.3 crore in 2025-26, with 6,105 of the state’s 7,250 villages receiving round-the-clock supply, energy minister Anil Vij told the state assembly on Monday.Replying during the monsoon session, Vij said all 95 urban areas in Haryana were getting 24-hour power supply — 55 subdivisions under Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and 40 under Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).The state generated or received 2,13,013.3 lakh units within Haryana in 2025-26 and another 5,55,604.3 lakh units from outside, taking the total to 7,68,617.6 lakh units.Under the ‘Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon’ scheme, 6,105 villages, or 84.2%, now have 24-hour supply. The remaining 1,145 villages get 16-hour supply.Of the villages with round-the-clock power, 2,686 are under DHBVN and 3,419 under UHBVN. The remaining 980 villages under DHBVN and 165 under UHBVN continue to get 16-hour supply.Vij said the govt was working to bring the remaining villages into the 24-hour network by strengthening electricity infrastructure and ensuring feeders operate within prescribed load limits.The energy department has 25,543 vacancies against 53,289 sanctioned posts. Of the sanctioned posts, 27,746 are occupied by regular employees, while another 15,362 personnel are engaged through HKRNL, HARTRON, contractors, part-time arrangements and direct outsourcing.The department has 23,036 vacancies among 47,717 sanctioned Category-C posts and 1,986 among 2,927 Category-D posts.Vij also said 37,892 electricity poles were damaged or uprooted in storm-related disruptions in Sirsa between May and July. He credited department personnel with restoring supply within a short period.
