Tarn Taran: A man was allegedly stabbed 83 times in just 37 seconds outside Tarn Taran bus stand in a suspected honour killing on Sunday after he recently married the sister of the suspects, police said.Police identified the victim as Jagjit Singh, a resident of Kadgill village.“Jagjit eloped with the woman on July 18. In revenge, her two brothers hacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. One of the accused, Jaspreet Singh, has been arrested, while the other, Harpreet, is absconding,” said SSP Surendra Lamba.On Sunday, the woman‘s mother asked Jagjit to meet her at the bus stand, where both accused were already waiting. As soon as Jagjit arrived, the brothers allegedly attacked him with knives, police said.Investigators are further examining the circumstances surrounding the attack and collecting evidence to establish the exact sequence of eventsA case has been registered at City Tarn Taran police station.
