Lucknow: Senior BJP functionaries and members of its allies launched a counterattack on allegations made by SP president Akhilesh Yadav regarding the encounter of the accused in the Ankit Baliyan murder case in Shamli.BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary said that the opposition, and especially Akhilesh Yadav, had no faith in any institution.“A criminal will not be spared, no matter which caste or class he belongs to,” said minister Sanjay Nishad, adding that a criminal was only a criminal.Transport minister Dayashankar Singh said that many criminals who earlier received political protection fled the state, many were in jail, and others were killed in encounters.BJP MP Dinesh Sharma said the police were working while risking their lives to punish the criminals who killed Ankit Baliyan.BJP Rajya Sabha MP and former DGP Brijlal termed Akhilesh’s allegations a fake narrative.BJP MLA Pooja Pal said that Akhilesh Yadav forgot what kind of situation prevailed in the state during the SP govts.BJP state vice-president Neeraj Singh said that Akhilesh was trying to create a false narrative.
