Jhunjhunu: The Khandela municipal elections in Sikar district have thrown up an interesting contest, with BJP fielding a husband-wife duo and Congress giving tickets to a father and son.BJP has fielded Vikas Badgurjar from Ward 5 and his wife, Vimla Badgurjar, from Ward 6. Congress, meanwhile, has nominated Bhura Ram Saini from Ward 13 and his son, Subhash, from Ward 9. All four candidates filed their nominations Monday.Before the delimitation of wards in Khandela Municipality, Vikas Badgurjar of Mehro ki Dhani gram panchayat and Bhura Ram Saini of Dayra had served as sarpanch. Both parties have now fielded two members each from their families.Elections are being held for 40 wards of Khandela Municipality. Congress has released a list of 32 candidates, while BJP has announced candidates for 25 wards. The decision of both major parties to field fewer candidates than the total number of wards has also sparked discussion.
