Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) marked Women’s Equality Day with a poster-making competition organised by the department of human development and family studies, College of Community Science, to promote awareness about gender equality, women’s empowerment and equal opportunities.The event encouraged students to reflect on the need to eliminate discrimination and foster a more inclusive and equitable society through creative expression.Harpreet Kaur, professor and head, department of food and nutrition, said such activities provide students with an opportunity to engage meaningfully with important social issues and develop awareness about gender equity.Kiran Bains, dean, College of Community Science, lauded the participants for their creativity and enthusiasm. She emphasised that women’s equality is vital for the well-being of families and the progress of society, and underscored the importance of ensuring equal opportunities, dignity and respect for all.
