Sridhar Babu urges German firms to invest in semiconductors manufacturing in state

Hyderabad: Telangana IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Monday urged German companies to invest in semiconductor manufacturing in Telangana, which is positioning itself as a hub for the sector.During a meeting with a German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) delegation, which was led by Kelsterbach mayor Manfred Ockel, the minister apprised the German delegation of opportunities in semiconductors, life sciences, aerospace and defence, electronics, advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, automobiles and automation in Telangana.He said the state govt would extend support to German companies setting up operations in Telangana through faster approvals, infrastructure facilitation, investment incentives and skill development.German firms could use Telangana’s talent base and industrial ecosystem, he said, pointing out that the state hoped to draw on Germany’s strengths in advanced technology, precision engineering and manufacturing.The minister also sought GIBA’s support for a Telangana-Germany logistics corridor to improve movement of goods and help Telangana exporters access German and wider European markets.He urged the delegation to publicise the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026, scheduled for Dec 7-9, among German industrialists.GIBA chairman Selvakumar Periasamy, GIBA CEO Nirmal Raman Kannaiyan, Innovation Hub Rhein-Main CEO Stefan Witkindt and FTCCI representatives attended the meeting along with other business leaders.
