HYDERABAD: A 60-year-old AIMIM party worker cum re-estate agent was stabbed to death by a group of persons near his house in Vattepally area on Sunday night.The victim, Md Mahboob Ali, went to Almas hotel near his house at around 10 pm to buy food.While walking back home from the hotel, Ali stopped about 100 metres away from his house to talk to an acquaintance.While he was talking to the man, six people arrived there on two bikes.“The group launched a sudden attack on Ali without any provocation. The accused stabbed him multiple times and fled from the spot,” DCP Rajendranagar S Srinivas said.The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by locals. He succumbed while undergoing treatment at around 10.45 pm.After the incident, AIMIM party MLC Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi and Bahadurpura MLA, Mohammedc Mubeen, visited the place.“Mahboob Ali was our party’s Vattepally area president. Family members suspect the involvement of a known person. Police are investigating,” the MLC said.Police identified a local man, Mohsin as the prime suspect.Special teams have launched a man hunt to nab Mohsin and the other accused.
