Chennai: Minister for micro, small and medium enterprises P Madhanraja on Sunday called for an impact dashboard to measure the outcomes of corporate social responsibility initiatives of companies. He said CSR should be measured by social impact instead of expenditure.At the CSRNOW TINYLOOP 2026 CSR summit at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the minister said the dashboard can have details such as the number of youth trained and employed and women who became financially independent through such projects. “Let us build CSR with a digital spine, where every major intervention carries three components, technology, measurement and sustainability,” he said.He invited organisations to invest in Ottapidaram constituency in Tuticorin district, which he represents. “It is a constituency with tremendous potential and development needs. I invite CSR leaders to come to our districts with more than a cheque. Come with technology, mentorship, market access,” he said.He said that the chief minister has placed before Tamil Nadu an ambitious vision of building a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. “CSR and MSME development are natural partners. If CSR can provide the ecosystem, technology, training, mentorship and market access, and MSMEs create the economic activity,” he said.The seminar was centred on the theme ‘From transient charity to lasting legacy’. More than 200 people, including industry leaders, CSR heads of corporate companies, representatives of self-help groups (SHGs), entrepreneurs, academicians and students, participated.
