Guwahati: The person driving the vehicle that met with a road accident on Sunday, leaving three women on board dead, was absconding and was detained in Dibrugarh district on Monday, police said.A team from Guwahati police is en-route to Dibrugarh to bring him to Guwahati. The case is being investigated under the Noonmati police station.The young women — Puja Saha (26) of Goalpara, Akanksha Saikia (23) of Sivasagar and Armina Ahmed of New Bongaigaon — were killed in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday after the car they were travelling in rammed into a parked truck at Mathgharia in Guwahati.The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car mangled. Two of the occupants died on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. Rescue teams had to use machines to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage.
