Rajkot: A man allegedly grabbed an on-duty head constable by his uniform collar, shoved him against a wall and threatened to kill him inside Nilambaug police station in Bhavnagar on Friday night, police said.The accused, Mihir Tank, was booked after the incident, as he entered the police station in an agitated state around 9pm and allegedly abused police personnel. According to the FIR lodged by unarmed head constable Vijaysinh Gohil, 42, Tank said his brother had been injured in a knife attack and was admitted to Sir T Hospital. He alleged that police at the hospital outpost had refused to register his complaint.Tank initially left the station but returned about 10 minutes later. When Gohil, who was on police station officer (PSO) duty, asked him to stop abusing the staff and explain his grievance, Tank allegedly grabbed the constable by the collar, pushed him against a wall and assaulted him, causing blunt force injuries.Another head constable, Pruthvirajsinh, intervened and took Tank out of the PSO room. Tank allegedly continued threatening Gohil from outside, saying he would kill him when the constable stepped out. He then allegedly re-entered the room and disrupted police operations.Police registered a case for obstructing a public servant, intentional insult and criminal intimidation.
