Ahmedabad: The results of Round 1 of admissions for MBBS and BDS courses for 2026-27 have been announced. A total of 7,459 seats have been allotted based on merit and choices filled during the online counselling process.According to the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC), Gujarat, 15,962 candidates were on the Round 1 merit list. Of these, 15,448 completed the online choice-filling process. Based on preferences and merit rank, 6,398 MBBS seats and 1,061 BDS seats have been allotted.Candidates allotted seats in the first round must pay their tuition fee online between Aug 27 and Sep 3 by 3.30pm. It can also be paid at designated HDFC Bank branches approved by the committee Aug 29 to Sep 3.Candidates must report to the designated help centres and submit their original certificates between Aug 29 and Sep 5.After Round 1, 785 MBBS seats remain vacant, including 761 NRI seats and 24 PwD seats. In the BDS category, 158 seats remain vacant, comprising 147 NRI seats and 11 PwD seats.The committee stated that if these seats remain vacant during the second round, they will be converted as per admission rules. NRI seats may be converted to management quota seats, while vacant PwD seats will be converted within their respective categories.Help centres will remain operational from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am to noon on Saturdays. They will remain closed on Sundays and public holidays.
