Palghar: The death of a 17-year-old girl under suspicious circumstances in Kasa has taken a new turn after her family alleged that she was killed by her boyfriend. Police, however, have not yet established the cause of death and have sent her viscera for forensic examination after the postmortem report kept the cause of death reserved.The deceased, Anjali Kadu, lived in Charoti in Dahanu taluka. On Aug 17, she had gone to her boyfriend’s house, where her health reportedly deteriorated. Later, in the early hours, she allegedly went outside, slipped and fell, sustaining a serious head injury. She subsequently died.Her father, Vishnu Kadu, said her condition had deteriorated the previous day, but her boyfriend’s family had taken her for religious prayers. “We have not yet been told what exactly caused my daughter’s death. We suspect foul play,” he alleged.Kasa police have registered an accidental death report. “The cause of death has been kept reserved in the postmortem report. We have therefore sent the viscera for forensic examination. The exact cause will be known after the report,” said assistant police inspector Amar Patil of Kasa police station.
