Udaipur: A 22-year-old man died after a firecracker gun’s lid struck his neck while he was bursting crackers during an Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession at Khempura Chauraha in Udiapur Wednesday afternoon, police said.The deceased, Mohammad Salman, a resident of Railway Colony, was detonating an ‘Aalu Bomb’ after placing it in a mini steel gun when its lid flew open and hit his neck at high speed. He suffered a serious injury and collapsed.Family members and others from the community took him to Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Assistant sub inspector Surajmal Meena said Salman suffered a severe neck injury in the incident, resulting in rupture of his windpipe and food pipe and heavy bleeding. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
