Dimapur: Dimapur police seized 19,760 bottles of suspected codeine-based cough syrup during a raid at a warehouse in Marwari Patti here on Tuesday evening.In a release, Dimapur police DCP (crime) said a team from sub-urban police station raided the warehouse, following credible intelligence. The tenant failed to appear despite repeated calls, following which the ACP (West) ordered the opening of the locked godown.The search was conducted in the presence of independent local witnesses and digitally documented through the e-Sakshya platform to ensure transparency.Police recovered 101 cartons of one cough syrup containing 16,160 bottles and 25 cartons of another cough syrup containing 3,600 bottles. Several unaccounted pharmaceutical products were also found on the premises.
