Hisar: A 13-year-old Class IX student at a govt girls’ senior secondary school in Mohammadpur Rohi village was allegedly slapped on the ear by her mathematics teacher during class, leaving her with severe pain and prompting her family to allege that her eardrum may have been damaged.The student said the incident occurred during the third period when mathematics teacher Ranveer Singh asked her a question. She claimed she gave the correct answer, but the teacher allegedly told her she was wrong and slapped her hard on the ear.She said she suffered severe pain after the alleged assault and returned home crying. Her family then took her to civil hospital, Fatehabad, where she is undergoing treatment.Her mother alleged that she and some villagers confronted the teacher after school. She claimed the teacher did not acknowledge the alleged misconduct and instead told them he would continue hitting students and challenged them to take whatever action they wanted.The family and some villagers also alleged that the teacher had previously assaulted students. These claims have not been independently verified.Hospital authorities said an ENT specialist was unavailable on Wednesday and would examine the girl the following day to determine whether her eardrum had been damaged.A Fatehabad police spokesperson said the department had not received information about the incident. He said any complaint received would be examined.
