Kota: At least 20-22 people, including women and children, were injured after a pickup vehicle carrying worshippers overturned on Aklera road under Sarthal police station in Baran district Wednesday late morning. A 35-year-old woman, Sunderibai, suffered critical injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Aklera.The group was travelling from Sarthal town to Kamkheda Balaji to attend a religious feast when the accident occurred. According to Sarthal station house officer Radheshyam, the vehicle had travelled barely 2-3 km from Sarthal when it lost its balance, possibly after encountering an obstacle on the road, and plunged into a roadside field.The injured were taken to a nearby hospital in Aklera. Eight of them were later referred to SRG Hospital in Jhalawar for specialised treatment. Their condition was stated to be out of danger, police said. The remaining injured were given first aid and discharged.Police have registered a case and launched an inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
