The filmmaker revealed that ‘Spirit’ will be certified ‘A’ by the censor board, adding that this shouldn’t shock anyone given the film’s intense and violent nature by design. In ‘Spirit’, Prabhas will play a police officer. The director made this announcement at the trailer launch of Romanchakam, featuring Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar, a film he’s presenting under Bhadrakali Pictures, the banner he runs alongside his brother, Pranay Reddy Vanga.

Vanga also talked about his equation with Prabhas and the actor’s overwhelming popularity nationwide. The filmmaker, who has previously tagged Prabhas “India’s biggest superstar,” repeated that sentiment while speaking about the film. He said, “Not just my feeling, but most people feel that… Prabhas is INDIA’S BIGGEST SUPERSTAR.”

He also addressed queries around the release window between ‘Spirit’ and ‘Varanasi’, SS Rajamouli’s upcoming venture with Mahesh Babu. Asked at the media interaction whether the gap between the two much-awaited films was enough, he said, “It will be sufficient. There are around 37 days gap. Also, that film (Varanasi) is bigger than Spirit.”

When the same question came up again, Sandeep humorously suggested that the reporter wanted ‘Spirit’ out of Varanasi’s way, leaving those at the event amused. ‘Spirit’ is presently scheduled for a March 2027 release, while ‘Varanasi’ is set to follow in April 2027. Both projects continue to be counted among the most eagerly awaited big-budget films on the Indian release slate.

Meanwhile, Pranay Reddy Vanga addressed the controversy around Deepika Padukone’s exit from ‘Spirit’, pointing to differences over remuneration and scheduling as major factors behind her departure, while hinting at other reasons too. Deepika Padukone’s team has since denied these claims. Adding another twist, reports have surfaced suggesting that Prakash Raj, who voiced a part of the film’s audio teaser, has also walked out of the project.
