BSP national convener Akash Anand to hold his second public meeting in UP, at Jewar tomorrow

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national convener and party national president Mayawati’s nephew, Akash Anand, will hold his second public meeting in UP on Tuesday. He will address people in Jewar assembly constituency of Gautambudhnagar and also declare his party’s candidate from the constituency.Akash had launched his campaign for the 2027 assembly elections in UP on Aug 10 from Sadabad assembly constituency in Hathras, where he had also announced Avin Sharma as the party’s candidate and sought votes for him. After Jewar, he may address more public meetings in UP, the schedule for which may be released soon by the party, said sources.Akash, while addressing people in Sadabad, had asked them to “vote for work, and not for party manifestos, fake promises or freebies.”To tap into the unrest among young voters, he spoke extensively about the lack of employment, govt posts lying vacant in various departments, poor condition of schools and colleges, and an anti-reservation narrative being built up in the country. While he attacked BJP, Congress and Samajwadi Party for their caste-based politics and ignoring issues that mattered to common people while in office, he had also reminded people of the welfare measures implemented for them by the BSP govt in UP from time to time, especially for the young men and women. It is to connect with the young voters that the party has brought him early into the election campaign in the state compared to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which were the first when he, as a national figure of the party, campaigned in UP.
