New Delhi: Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in two separate road accidents in the city.In a hit-and-run early Sunday, Aman, a 19-year-old resident of Madanpur Khadar, lost his life after a truck hit his motorcycle near IP Flyover in central Delhi. The driver fled the spot following the collision. Alber (22), who was riding pillion, was injured.The IP Estate police station was alerted at 6.21 am about the accident. Aman was dead by the time cops rushed to the spot. Alber, who lives in Jamia Nagar’s Batla House, was rushed to hospital. He is under treatment and is stable. Aman’s body was sent for postmortem.The two were travelling towards Sarai Kale Khan when they met with the accident. Police registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from near the site and along adjoining roads to map the movement of the truck and possible routes taken by it after the crash. Efforts are on to identify its driver and arrest him.In another accident, Jitender Rathore (35) was killed after the e-rickshaw he was travelling in collided with a tempo at Kattar Market Chowk in outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri Saturday night.The tempo driver, Lalit (29), stopped after the collision and helped bystanders take Rathore to hospital, a police officer said. However, he allegedly fled from the hospital afterwards. He was later traced and arrested. The tempo was seized. A case was registered at Raj Park police station.Rathore was the sole breadwinner for his family and had three children.
