Pune: The Chandannagar police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against a builder and others for allegedly failing to provide promised amenities to residents of a housing society in Kharadi since 2018.Senior inspector Ashwini Jagtap of Chandannagar police said, “The builder has failed to fulfil his promises to the residents over the past six years, causing unrest among them. The society has more than 150 flats, and so far, three affected residents have approached us with their complaints.”Police said the builder had promised several amenities, including visitor parking, a swimming pool, gym, yoga centre, meditation area, basketball court, children’s play area and a senior citizens’ area, besides executing the conveyance deed and providing other documents.“The builder and his associates repeatedly promised these amenities to the residents but never delivered them. Moreover, the builder sold parking spaces to multiple people, leading to disputes among the residents,” she said.“We are waiting for more complaints from the flat owners,” she added.
